Saturday Sept. 9 at 2pm. The celebration of the Centennial of WWI continues with a screening of the 1937 French film “La Grande Illusion” followed by a discussion with Professor Thomas Heed who was the Dean of American and International Studies at Ramapo College for forty years.
Professor Heed lectures on the United States in World War I and World War II. About the film: during the First World War, two French soldiers are captured and imprisoned in a German P.O.W. camp.
Several escape attempts follow until they are sent to a fortress which seems impossible to escape from.
